Most of the record is work that did not end
Maintenance is not a category in our project register — it is what most of the register is. Read all 52 recorded jobs by what the engagement was rather than by what the equipment was, and 31 are plant we were kept on.

How the register divides
Every entry falls into exactly one of these, and the three sum to 52. They are different kinds of recorded engagement, not stages of one.
31
Work that did not end
Plant we were kept on after the first job was finished.
- 28Kept runningMaintenance, service and repair of plant already installed.
- 3Operated by our own staffBoiler plant we run, not only maintain.
21
Put in and handed over
Recorded work completed at handover.
The three groups are read off the work description on every entry, and each lands in exactly one. One entry — a mini substation and transformer job — carries no verb at all and is counted as handover.
At three facilities, we do not visit the boiler house. We staff it.
Boiler operating is the deepest involvement in the register: our own operators run the plant rather than attending it. The register holds 3 entries of this kind.
- Operating and maintenance of boilersCorrectional facility, Gauteng
- Operating and maintenance of boilersCorrectional facility, Gauteng
- Operating of boilersCorrectional facility, Eastern Cape
Client names are withheld — permission to publish them has not been given.
Boilers, steam & hot waterWhat a contract changes
Not a service level. What is actually different about the work when we stay involved.
- We already know the plant — what is installed, what has been replaced, and what failed last time.
- Planned and preventative maintenance across the whole plant room, not one machine at a time.
- Our own trades and our own workshops, so a repair does not become a chain of subcontractors.
- Boiler operating, where you would rather we ran the plant than visited it.
Send us the plant list.
A maintenance contract is priced off what is actually on site. Send the plant list — or a rough one — and we will tell you what we would cover and what we would leave alone.
- What plant is on site, and roughly how old it is
- What is already under contract, and with whom
- When each item was last serviced or inspected
- What fails most often
What we will not promise
- We do not publish a breakdown number or trading hours.
- We do not claim round-the-clock cover.
- We will not quote you a response time.
An emergency number that nobody answers is worse than no emergency number. Until we can publish one that is genuinely staffed, we would rather you knew that now than found out during a shutdown.
This is our general line, and it is the only number we publish. If plant is down now, say so in the first sentence.
